Moana begins its first live pilot at a private clinic in the South Pacific

Moana Digital Health is live at a private clinic in the South Pacific, the first pilot site for the Moana platform.
A clinical record system is proven only in a working clinic, with clinicians prepared to adopt it in routine practice. Dr BellaDonna Potoi and the clinic team agreed to be the first to do so.
Clinical scope
The first objective is to reduce paperwork at the point of care, so that doctors spend more of their time with patients.
At the clinic, each patient has one record, with appointments, consultation notes, prescribing and results held in the same place. Moana is designed for unreliable connectivity: when the connection drops, work is saved on the device and synchronised when the connection returns.
The clinic’s doctors work directly with the Moana team. Their feedback on daily practice is incorporated into the product and has already shaped how Moana supports small private practices.
Beyond a single clinic
The pilot is the first step. The objective is to connect private clinics, pharmacies and laboratories on shared infrastructure, supporting continuity of care across facilities, and in time to extend that infrastructure to the public health system.
Moana is now also in use at private laboratories and pharmacies in the South Pacific.
Acknowledgements
Moana Digital Health thanks its team in the South Pacific, Dr Leaupepe and Derek Fruean, and Dr BellaDonna Potoi and the clinic team for leading the first pilot.
