How we work

How engagement works.

We work with private practices on a monthly subscription, and with hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies and governments on implementation, training and long term support. In every engagement, the organisation that collects the data owns it.

Four stages

From the first conversation to long term support.

Each department’s workflow is mapped with the people who carry it out and configured in Moana with them, before anything goes into use.

  1. 1

    Discovery

    What happens
We walk every department to map how work actually moves, with the people who perform it. For a practice, we call or email to understand how you work, then recommend the modules that fit.
    What you provide
Time with department heads and the staff who run each workflow, and the forms, registers and systems you use today.
  2. 2

    Pilot

    What happens
Moana is configured to match, department by department, and connected to existing analysers, PACS and national systems. A first site or set of departments goes live, and what its clinicians tell us goes straight back into the product.
    What you provide
The people who use each workflow, to configure and check it with us, and their feedback once it is in use.
  3. 3

    Rollout

    What happens
Rollout and staff training on site, with our team working alongside your own ICT staff. Existing records come across by import from spreadsheets and systems, or by digitising paper records with a final human check.
    What you provide
Your ICT team, staff available for training, your hosting choice and the records you want brought into the system.
  4. 4

    Support

    What happens
Moana maintains the system and provides ongoing support on site or remotely. Updates install automatically, and modules can be added as you grow.
    What you provide
Feedback from the teams who use the system day to day. You own your data throughout.

Engagement models

One platform, three ways to work with us.

The same platform can be deployed for a single practice and extended, without migration, to an entire health system.

  • Subscription, for private practices

A simple monthly subscription based on the modules you choose, with no large upfront licence. Our team configures Moana for the way your practice works, migrates essential data where needed and trains the team on site or remotely.

    Moana for practices
  • Enterprise, for hospitals

The full hospital platform with implementation led by our team: each department mapped and configured, existing analysers, PACS and national systems connected, staff trained on site. Laboratories and pharmacies can run MOANA LIS or the Pharmacy Management System on their own.

    Moana for hospitals
  • National systems, for governments

One platform from the health post to the national hospital, with surveillance, medical supply and clinical research as national systems. The government owns its data and hosting is agreed with each government. Moana is a UN Global Marketplace supplier (1210269) and on the ADB consultant register (CMS ID 049609).

Support and training

We stay after go-live.

  • Training on site

Staff are trained on site during rollout. Practices are trained on site or remotely.

  • Support on site or remotely

Moana maintains the system and provides ongoing support on site or remotely.

  • Automatic updates

Updates install automatically, so every workstation stays on the current release.

  • Bringing records across

Scanning of paper records with OCR, digital versions of existing forms, and standards based data migration, with a final human check before anything enters the record.

  • Hosting your way

Cloud, on premises or hybrid hosting, agreed with each organisation and implemented with its own ICT team.

  • Your data

The practice, hospital or government that collects the data owns it.

Security, privacy and data ownership

See Moana with your own workflows.

We will walk your team through the platform using the departments and reports you work with every day.
