The challenge

Moving established practices onto a single clinical record.

For a private practice, running a new system in parallel with an existing one carries little risk. Retiring the existing system is the substantive step, because the practice then depends on the new system for every registered patient and every scheduled appointment.

The founding pilot clinic took that step in April 2026. Its records, appointment schedule and prescribing now sit in Moana, and its doctors work from Moana every day.

The objective is to reduce the fragmentation of information at the point of care, so that clinicians spend less of each consultation locating information and more of it with the patient.

As the first site to run the platform in daily practice, the founding clinic has informed the development of Moana for private practices, and the feedback of its doctors continues to shape the product.

Next steps

Shared infrastructure across private providers.

The longer term objective is for private clinics, laboratories and pharmacies to operate on shared infrastructure, so that a patient’s record, results and prescriptions can follow them between providers and, in time, into the public health system.

Doctors at the founding clinic continue to work directly with the Moana team. Issues raised in daily practice are taken into the product, and have already shaped how Moana supports small private practices.
