ANGAU Labour Ward configured to create the newborn record at delivery

Moana team with Labour Ward staff at ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital

The Labour Ward at ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital is mapped and configured in Moana, with go live at ANGAU expected in the coming weeks.

The Labour Ward is the first stage of the maternal and newborn pathway at ANGAU. What is recorded at delivery becomes the foundation of the child’s record in every department that follows.

A record that begins at birth

In Moana, a delivery is recorded against the mother’s record. That entry creates the baby’s own record at the point of care, linked to the mother and to the delivery.

Birth weight, APGAR scores and the first doses given at birth are captured once and carried forward, so they are not recorded again when the baby moves to another department.

The maternal and newborn pathway

From the Labour Ward, the pathway continues to the Special Care Nursery for newborns who need additional support, and then to the Children’s Outpatient Department. Each stage is configured to add to the same record.

We will walk your team through the platform using the departments and reports you work with every day.
