ANGAU Children’s Outpatient Department configured to continue the record from birth

The Children’s Outpatient Department at ANGAU Memorial Provincial Hospital is mapped and configured in Moana, with go live at ANGAU expected in the coming weeks.
The department completes the maternal and newborn pathway at ANGAU, which begins in the Labour Ward and continues through the Special Care Nursery.
Each visit added to one record
In Moana, each outpatient visit is added to the record that began at birth. Growth is plotted from routine measurements, and the immunisations due are visible to the clinician during the consultation.
Referrals that carry the history
When a child is referred, the referral carries the child’s history, so the receiving clinician sees the record from birth.
Continuity of care
With birth details, special care and outpatient visits held in the same record, the clinician seeing a child in the outpatient department works from the full history of that child’s care at the hospital.
