Moana launches Clinical Research
Moana Clinical Research is now available as a standalone system on top of the Moana platform. It is built for hospitals and research units that need to find eligible patients for a study without exposing who those patients are.
Researchers set inclusion and exclusion criteria and see a live count of matching patients across facilities. Identities stay hidden until the study is approved and a candidate has been screened. Screening, consent and recruitment are recorded against each candidate, and every query and every identity view is written to an audit log.

When a patient in clinic matches an open trial, the treating doctor sees a prompt inside the patient record. Datasets leave the system only with identifiers removed and with the principal investigator’s approval.
Why it sits on the platform
Clinical Research reads from the same record clinicians already use. There is no second database to keep in step, and the counts a research team sees reflect care as it is recorded. Each deployment is configured to the site’s own studies and governance.
